Description
The development of nautical tourism in the Mediterranean has made it necessary to improve the facilities of Civitavecchia Port, one of the most important ports at a national level.
Astaldi Group built a quay measuring 680 metres in length which allows for the mooring of large cruise ships, using original, modern technologies.
In this way the guests aboard these “floating hotels” can reach the city in just under an hour. The construction method that is based on concrete parts which are produced in a floating basin and hence placed on the exact sinking point made it possible to complete the project in just two years, to the client’s great satisfaction.
