Description
Astaldi Group built the outdoor laboratories of I.N.F.N. (Italy’s national nuclear physics institute), located at the foot of Gran Sasso, near L’Aquila. The project involved the construction of a group of three buildings made of reinforced concrete, with teaching rooms and laboratories, whose main purpose is to provide physicists with suitable areas for meeting and exchanging points of view
regarding their studies. Said works involving the research sector were linked to works on building the Casaccia Nuclear Research Centre in Rome during the 1960s and the PEC nuclear plant during the 1970s as well as CERN’s LEP project in Geneva during the 1980s. All these research facilities saw the direct involvement of Astaldi and its most skilled technical staff.
