Description
The project to modernise the NR8 National Road forms part of the “Infrastructures and Environment Operating Programme” promoted and co-funded by the EU.
The works, worth a total of PLN 1.4 billion (approximately EUR 350 million), will be performed by Astaldi (project leader with a 47% stake) together with the local companies, PBDiM Minsk Mazowiecki (which is already in partnership with Astaldi for the Warsaw underground project), Erbedim and Intercor and the Italian company, Technital.
The project involves the design and performance of works to upgrade 62 kilometres of national road – the section running from Piotrków Tribunalski to Rawa
Mazowiecka - to fast-flowing dual carriageway standards, and involves the construction of 14 split-level junctions and 59 large-scale infrastructures (including overpasses, bridges and viaducts), as well as upgrading of all the secondary road network and environmental impact mitigation activities.
The whole of the main road surface shall be rigid with in-situ concrete slabs laid using sliding formwork machines.
The works have been commissioned by Poland’s National Roads and Motorways Department.
The planned duration of the works is 33 months.
