Description

The Pont Ventoux hydroelectric plant, the largest built in in the last twenty years, sums up Group’s construction capacity with regard to both hydraulic and underground works.

Indeed, the plant, which is as tall as a ten-floor building, was created by digging out the inside of a mountain. The two 150MW Francis turbines located inside the plant allow for up to 457GWh of energy to be produced per year.

The water resources are managed independently by an advanced fibre-optic control system while a pump system makes it possible to transfer water from a downstream reservoir to an upstream basin during low-cost energy hours, thus maximising energy production during periods of peak demand.

It is estimated that the technological solutions adopted allow for annual saving of approximately 258,000 tons of CO².
